Welcome
Loyola Hall Spirituality Centre is situated where town meets countryside, in Rainhill, close to Liverpool, England. A tranquil oasis, Loyola Hall is a Christian centre, run by the Jesuits, a Roman Catholic religious order. It is a house of prayer, peace, and quiet with numerous prayer-rooms, a large chapel, a variety of lounges and meeting rooms, and extensive private grounds.
We extend a warm welcome to people of all Christian denominations and to those not affiliated to any church. Our aim is to provide a safe space for people searching for what is important in their life. We offer non-judgmental spiritual guidance, always seeking to help those who come to us find what is right for them.
Loyola Hall offers many retreats and courses catering to many kinds of needs. We offer supportive weekends for people who may feel alienated, for whatever reason, from organised religion, e.g., for gay and lesbian people, for those divorced or separated, or for those who follow 12-step programmes. We also have events specially tailored for those between 17 and 35.
Our extensive programme offers individually guided retreats of various lengths from weekends, through mid-week or 8-day retreats, to the full 30-day Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola. We also offer training to those wishing to become prayer guides and spiritual directors and a flexible, modular internship programme in spiritual accompaniment which is suitable for someone on sabbatical.
In all our events we seek to embody a holistic approach, nurturing the integration of spirit, mind and body for daily living. We provide a leisure room with sauna, jacuzzi and exercise facilites. Massage is often available. Our bookshop stocks aromatherapy oils and products.
Access is available for those in wheelchairs and an audio loop system is available for those who need it. Occasionally we can offer individually guided retreats in languages other than English: please enquire.
