Changing Direction? Eilish Curristin, RMA and Pauline Myers, SP
In our society the years between 30 and 50 can be times of transition. The things that gave some stability at an earlier stage – marriage, career, faith itself – can suddenly seem to need to be re-evaluated if they are to continue to support the journey of the second half of life. Or maybe you find yourself entering these years without having reached any fixed pattern of life, and begin to wonder what this means for you. This retreat starts from a position of affirming all that is good about whatever place you have reached. Then, in sharing with others who are similarly questioning, the retreat offers tools of reflection for asking how I can deepen all that is good in what I have found, and how I can work to heal whatever is in need of help. Much of the retreat will be in silence but there is an opportunity to speak with your own director on a daily basis and an opportunity to share with others on the retreat.

Praying through the year with St John Peter Edmonds SJ
John's gospel is distinguished from the others in several respects: by the profundity of its portrait of Christ, through its gallery of memorable characters, through its invitation to its readers to see the gospel story against the background of ultimate human realities such as light and life, bread and water. Traditionally a catechesis based on this gospel prepared new Christians for baptism at Easter, it is also a powerful means for Christian renewal in time of retreat for the 21st century. more…
